Activity Reports for Pest Management Office websites

These reports are filtered to not count use by Pest Management Office staff.  Here are some of the key terms used to describe web site activity:

The number of Page Views is how many times a page has been viewed.

The number of Visits is how many times people accessed the web site.
A single visit can include one or many page requests.  If the visitor returns within half an hour, it is counted as the same visit.

Hit counts are NOT a meaningful measure of web site traffic.  A single page view that contains 5 graphics will count for 6 hits every time it is viewed.

The web traffic report for October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2007 shows all unfiltered traffic to the Pest Management Office websites in fiscal 2007.  Frankly, I think these values are almost useless as they include much traffic generated by automated web searching programs.  But these are the values typically reported, and so they are shown here for comparison.  We have recently added the ability to analyze web traffic by human users and hope to post those statistics for the next fiscal year.
