Rain radar
Nowrad weather radar is
updated 4 times per hour and distinguishes between rain, sleet, and snow.
It is the most up to date picture. The
time-loop
series shows radar images from the past few hours in sequence to give a
sense of how a storm system is moving, but the most recent image in the
animation loop is 15-30 minutes older than the most recent static image. 0000 UTC = midnight UTC = 8pm Eastern Daylight
Savings Time (EDST) Northeast radar summary is a static image that is not quite as up to date as the Nowrad static image, but this image includes arrows to show storm track direction, speed, intensity, and height of clouds (which indicates amount of precipitation). Updated about every hour.
