 Rain radar

Nowrad weather radar is updated 4 times per hour and distinguishes between rain, sleet, and snow.  It is the most up to date picture.  The time-loop series shows radar images from the past few hours in sequence to give a sense of how a storm system is moving, but the most recent image in the animation loop is 15-30 minutes older than the most recent static image.
Rain is falling where the image shows green (light rain), yellow (more intense rain), or red (very intense rain).  Reload the link if think you are not getting the latest image.

The time stamp on the images are in Greenwich Mean Time (also called UTC time) and written in 24 hour clock time (0-24 hours, no AM or PM).  Subtract 4 hours to convert Greenwich Mean Time (UTC) to Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

0000 UTC = midnight UTC = 8pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDST)
0200 UTC = 2am UTC = 10pm EDST
0400 UTC = 12am (midnight) EDST
0600 UTC =   2am EDST
0800 UTC =   4am EDST
1000 UTC =   6am EDST
1200 UTC =   8am EDST
1400 UTC = 10am EDST
1600 UTC = 12pm EDST
1800 UTC =   2pm EDST
2000 UTC =   4pm EDST
2200 UTC =   6pm EDST  Converting UTC time to Local time

Northeast radar summary is a static image that is not quite as up to date as the Nowrad static image, but this image includes arrows to show storm track direction, speed, intensity, and height of clouds (which indicates amount of precipitation).  Updated about every hour.
